We learnt that medical staff were shunned during this Covid-19 virus period. They cared for the patients, were in the forefront in supporting Singapore yet when off duty, they were given looks and avoided like the plague.

Hence, we took the opportunity to instill and develop a sense of empathy in the kids. Except for buying of the 5 birds on Friday morning, we had the kids with us and got them to prepare the ingredients. They crushed the garlic, cut the onions, cabbage, had a hand in frying almost everything.

On Saturday morning, they got up early to pack the food.

Fei - 5am

Abby - 15 minutes later

Slug - 5250am

The fried beehoon and chicken curry was cooked by both Jamera and Susie. The kids formed a production line and got everything packed into 3 cooler bags.

I don't have photos of the food distribution because we were too busy at Tan Tock Seng Hospital then.

I hope the kids will remember this and they will want to participate in similar events on their own in future.
