We were joined by Yips and Pengs this Sunday to a durian farm in Kulai today. It started off with breakfast at Gelang Patah. I thought that this could be the first pit stop for future road trips, I thought. Coffee and breakfast were decent. It's a slight detour from the NS Highway, about 15 minutes so it's a workable pitstop. (Wee Hoi Kopitiam 惠海咖啡店)

After breakfast, we drove for about 40 minutes to Man Ting Fang for Leicha. I like the taste of it. The restaurant vibes is decent as well.

Next is the highlight of the day, Zhong Cheng Durian Farm. They sold Black Thorns and their specialty, Green Dragon. It is a self walk around the farm, we learnt about durian planting and the turnaround time for durian harvest is about 10 years. The earlier years may not have a matured taste to the durians then.

Since there was no MSW, we drove to a durian stall in Bukit Indah to buy some. Still, Ah Seng is the best.

It's another HOC trip!

From 10 June to 16 June 2024, Club Med to Airbnb Johor Bahru.

We headed off from Home at 5am. The first stop is Yong Peng Duck Noodles. We didn't patronise this restaurant during our last trip to Genting Highlands hence a visit to this place is a must.

Well...food was alright, nothing to boast about but it's a holiday feel that we are pursuing.

Our next stop was Segamat. It's the durian season but alas, no durians to be found. It's just unbelievable. Durians are found in JB, Singapore but none can be found within the source. We took a detour just to buy durians. Well, unfortunate events do happen during the holidays. We take it in our stride.

With no durians buying, we headed to the next planned stop, Kuantan. We had lunch there. CK googled the place and lo and behold, not only the food was awesome, the service was great. It was past lunch so it's just us and another couple at the 2nd floor. We were noisy, kept adding food items and the restaurant obliged us. The boss came to us with balloons.

After about a total of 7.5 hours of drive, we reached Club Med and that marks the beginning of a galore of kids activities. Beach, private sailing lessons, trapeze, visit to the turtle sanctuary. To me, the private sailing lessons was the highlight. Not only was it informative, we were given total hands on. Semy, the instructor, capsized the boat 2x and let us have a go at recovering the boat. It was not easy but truly a good experience.

After 5 days at Club Med, we made our way to an Airbnb called Urban Nook, at JB. Lunch was a stop in a small town called Gambang. It was recommended by the Ikan Bilis shop. CK wanted to get some for his soup preparation. We bought some and gave Nana 2 bags. Oh yes, lunch was good, inexpensive as how it is. Last 3 photos were taken at the Airbnb.
